Heart Failure Clinical Trial

Do You Experience Heart Failure?

Update: This Study Is No Longer Open For Enrollment

New Treatments For Heart Failure

Our team of experts offers trailblazing volunteers the opportunity to access new drugs designed to treat heart failure.

What is a clinical trial?

Clinical studies are essential for new medicines to be approved for use in patients. They help us answer specific questions about possible new treatments, such as;

  • Does it work?
  • Which dose works best?
  • Which patients respond best?

Thousands of people take part in carefully planned and controlled clinical studies every year.

An individual contribution with a phenomenal global impact

If you do decide to participate you will be helping to assess and provide valuable information about this medication. It is hoped the treatment given in the study will help your chronic heart failure, however, this cannot be guaranteed. The information obtained may help develop new treatments for chronic heart failure.

LCZ696 is a medicine that is approved for the treatment of people with reduced ejection heart failure. It is currently available for a doctor to prescribe in the UK.

Study medication featured in the New England Journal of Medicine

About the study

Your participation is completely voluntary.

You will be allocated to receive either LCZ696 or Valsartan for up to 3 years. You will visit the Center 8-10 times in the first year of the study. After the first year, alternating surgery/Center visits and telephone calls will occur every 3 months (2 Center visits and 2 telephone calls each year) for the remainder of the study.

You can continue taking the medicines that your doctor has prescribed for you (except those that are replaced by the study medication).

During the course of the study, you will be asked to provide blood and urine samples and to have health and medicine checks at each visit. You will also be asked to complete some questionnaires about how heart failure has affected your daily activities to assess your general health and well-being.

Four Re:Cognition Health Centers, One International Community Of Experts

Like all research studies, the protocols for clinical trials are the same across the world. This means that a volunteer in the UK receives exactly the same medical monitoring as a volunteer in Australia (e.g. MRI scans, blood tests, ECG). This is the same as a study that’s open in an NHS Center as well as a private Center (like ours).

The protocol for the research study is approved by an ethics committee before it’s possible to enroll volunteers. We take patient safety and compliance extremely seriously and follow the standards outlined by the MHRA and CQC closely.

We work with leading pharmaceutical companies across the world and are proud to have received a number of national awards for the exceptional care we provide.

Volunteer Opportunities – Potential Benefits

  • Study volunteers get early access to new treatments for heart failure and are monitored closely throughout the trial
  • Outstanding medical care is provided at no cost, including comprehensive health screens
  • Avoid lengthy NHS waiting lists and access expert care in a private Center setting
  • Travel expenses are reimbursed for each visit and complimentary refreshments are available
  • Change the future of heart failure; help develop cardiac treatments for future generations
