Our brains are the key to who we are

The Re:Cognition Health memory clinic is a comprehensive assessment of cognition and brain health

The memory clinic package includes an interview and cognitive examination by a specialist doctor and a set of investigations designed to identify a wide range of possible causes of memory difficulties. The doctor will explain the findings of all tests with you once your assessment has been completed.

Who will I see?

You will see a medical consultant who is a recognised cognitive expert. All of our consultants hold or have previously held senior NHS consultant posts.

Is the the memory clinic package suitable for you ?

  • The memory clinic assessment package is suitable for people in mid or later life who are experiencing significant memory difficulties and who wish to understand the reason for this
  • It is also suitable for those in mid- and later life who are interested in the current health of their brain and what they can do to reduce the risk of memory loss and dementia in the future
  • The memory clinic package may not be suitable for people with complex physical or mental health problems
  • If you are not sure if the memory clinic package is right for you, speak to one of our staff who will be able to advise whether this, or a different service within Re:Cognition Health, would be the most suitable choice for you

What if the assessment does not find the cause of my memory problems?

It is possible that the assessment will not identify a clear cause for your memory difficulties. If this is the case, your doctor will explain whether more detailed investigations would be appropriate. These further investigations can be arranged by Re:Cognition Health and are not included in the memory assessment package. Patients will receive a full report of their assessment and also have the option to continue further assessment via their GP.
